Team Building

As Editor of multiple publications, I strive to unite our staff. At the beginning of each year/semester our publications practice team building exercises to relax and have a fresh start to a new start.

Leadership

In both publications I have taken on leadership roles that span throughout the day. During various classes I am constantly teaching, planning, and assisting staff and students with assignments.

In addition to leadership roles in Wy-News and Wy-Hi, I have taken on roles outside of the news room that have expanded my leadership. In other school activities: DECA, Student Government, National Honor Society.

Each experience has strengthened by understanding of what it means to be a leader. Through these experiences I have learned new techniques that I will use in the future.

Editing

As Editor-in-Chief of multiple publications, I have expanded my editing skills and abilities. I have crafted an outstanding editing team in both publications to strengthen our process before publishing.

As Editor myself, I take charge and read every piece of writing, edit designs, and create templates for staff to use.

Prior to becoming Editor-in-Chief, I took on the role of Design Editor for Wy-News in 2023-2025. Through this role, I commented and made corrections on every news, feature, and entertainment page before they went to proofing.
